Tournament Rules

  1. CVGP tournaments are Men's, Women's and Mixed Doubles only.
  2. USAPA Membership Required (https://www.usapa.org)
  3. Register for tournament on pickleballtournaments.com
  4. Players must register with partner. No single entries will be accepted.
  5. Players can only play in two events.
  6. Entry Fee: $40 registration fee per tournament, plus $20 for each event entered ($40 for each Open Prize Money event entered).
  7. Size of Draws Limited. Due to the number of courts and times available the number of teams in a draw will be limited. Teams will be placed in the draw on a first come first served basis. Event size is at the discretion of the CVGP.
  8. Events order of play:
    Fridays Age/Skill: 50+, 60+, 70+, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5
    Saturdays Skill 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, Open (Prize Money)
    Sundays Age/Skill Mixed Doubles 50+, 60+, 70+, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, Open (Prize Money)
  9. Play will be governed by IFP rules. A copy of the rules can be found here: http://ipickleball.org/rules/pbrules-ifp.pdf. Matches will be 2 out of 3 sets to 11 points, win by 2. Losers bracket games are one game to 15, win by 2.
  10. The CVGP tournaments are USAPA Sanctioned as Medal Match Only (MMO) for officiating. Therefore, players will call their own lines until the medal match rounds. If conflict arises then players may appeal to the event desk or roving official for assistance.
  11. Players need to check in at the tournament desk 30 minutes before assigned playing time.
  12. PROBLEM PLAYERS WILL NOT BE ACCOMMODATED. ENTRANTS MUST BE AVAILABLE TO PLAY AS SCHEDULED. NO REFUNDS DUE TO SCHEDULING CONFLICTS. (Problem players are defined as players that need schedule accommodations.)
  13. Depending on the number of entries received, additional tournament sites may be required. You will be informed of this by email. The online draw will also indicate at which site each match is to be played. If still uncertain, call the tournament directors.
  14. All players who participate in the tournament (and spectators) accept full liabilities for accidents, injuries and/or loss of personal items, and will not hold the tournament, its directors, sponsors, or the facility responsible.
  15. In case of questionable of inclement weather, the tournament committee reserves the right to reschedule match times as needed. All players are advised that the rescheduled matches may include tournament participation on or during subsequent weekend(s). It is the player's responsibility to contact the tournament chair for rescheduled match times.
  16. All players must comply with the host club's dress code. If unsure, call the host facility in advance.
  17. Partner substitutions can only be made prior to the commencement of the tournament, and only with prior approval of the tournament director. Furthermore, if the partner substitution affects the seeding of an event, the substitution may not be allowed. Partner substitutions after your first-round match has begun are not permitted. Participants in violation of this rule risk disqualification from the tournament and forfeiture of their entry fees and any points earned.
