ASK THE OFFICIAL

Time Conflicts
by Anonymous

Q: My question deals with time conflicts. I recently signed up for a tournament and when I received my match times I was unhappy. Shouldn't the tournament officials change the times so I can play in the tournament? Why can't players be accomodated always? How difficult can it be to do a tennis tourament draw? Thanks

A: No, The Tournament must remain non-bised and cannot change match times for problem players. Can you imagine if times were changed to honor problem players play in all the divisions may never be completed in the time alloted for the event. When you sign up for the event note the times stated on the entry and plan on making a day of it maybe longer if you are playing in mutible divisions. During the time you are not on the court watch some of the other matches you get to see some great tennis for free.
